Home Health Aide - Description

The Home Health Aide Program us an opportunity for certified nursing assistants to expand their employability. Designed to meet state requirements for the Home Health Certificate, the program includes a review of personal care services, nutritional needs of home care patients, and medical and social needs of clients. Graduates are eligible for a variety of jobs, including private-duty nursing, hospice work, employment at home-health agencies, day visits, or live in home care services.

Prerequisite is an activate California CAN license or successful completion of a California CAN training program.

Home Health Aide Duties:

• Personal hygiene
• Assisting nurses
• Taking vital sings
• Setting up medical equipment
• Assisting with treatments
• Recording I&O
• Range of motion
• Providing psychological/emotional support, etc.

General Requirements:

• Active certification as a Certified Nursing Assistant
• California ID and Social Security Card
• CPR Card
• Physical Exam
• Scrubs
• Live scan/ fingerprinting
